Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Our FAQ is designed to alleviate any confusion about our fabrication process for doors, cabinets, and windows.
Do I need to have my builder or contractor contact SoCo Wood & Windows?
It depends on the project. For home furnishings or smaller projects, we are happy to work directly with you to create the wood products exactly as you want. For new construction, renovations, and remodels that require building materials, send us your inspiration photos (or take our design quiz!) and put us in contact with your builder or contractor. We’ll work with both you and your builder to design the look you want and ensure the job goes smoothly.
How soon can I expect my order to be completed?
Because we mill each order carefully by hand, your order will be finished roughly 2-4 weeks from when the order was placed. This timeline does not include shipping or local delivery of the final product. Large and/or custom orders and orders made from specialty materials may have a longer lead time. We will discuss the lead time with you when we send your estimate to ensure proper expectations are set and communicated.
How long will it take my windows/doors/cabinets to arrive?
With worldwide shipping disruptions, a lot depends on what company and even what product you choose. We recommend ordering your windows, doors, and cabinets several months out to provide a cushion and ensure you’ll have your products when you need them.
Why do you have a door shop?
Will SoCo Wood & Windows deliver my order?
Does SoCo Wood & Windows measure and install?
SoCo Wood & Windows is a manufacturer and distributor so we do not install our products. While our finished products are generally easy to install, we recommend having a professional contractor, carpenter, or builder install parts such as trim, stair treads and risers, and box beams.
What if my window or door arrives damaged?
Do you accept returns?
Do you pre-finish, paint, or stain?
Do you match wood profiles?
Yes. With over 60 years of experience and the knife collection to prove it, SoCo Wood & Windows can match any profile. Whether it is a historic renovation or moulding profile that you fell in love with while on vacation, we can recreate it in any species of wood you wish. And with NO minimum run, there is no job too small!
