For new construction, renovations, and remodels, please send us your inspiration photos and put us in contact with your builder or contractor. We’ll work with both you and your builder to design the look you want and ensure the job goes smoothly.
Do you pre-finish, paint, or stain wood products?
We do not. Ever do a remodel and try to match a stain that you didn’t do originally? It’s a nightmare! And trying to match factory-stained pieces is extremely difficult if not next to impossible. That’s why we deliver our products bare wood–so you can completely control the finish at the time of install.
If I show you pictures I like, can you help me create the look?
Absolutely! Make us collaborators on Pinterest or Houzz or simply email us a picture and we will work with you to recreate the look or custom design the look you want. We know our window, door, and cabinet brands well, and can point you toward the products that match what you like.
Materials
MDF vs Poplar — which should I use for interior trim?
Poplar is durable and ideal for paint-grade trim; MDF is budget-friendly and smooth but less moisture-resistant. We’ll recommend materials based on room conditions and your finish preferences.
What types of doors do you carry?
We carry a wide variety including patio doors, French doors, sliding doors, and custom entry doors in multiple materials.
Do you match wood profiles?
Yes. With over 60 years of experience and the knife collection to prove it, SoCo Wood & Windows can match any profile. Whether it is a historic renovation or moulding profile that you fell in love with while on vacation, we can recreate it in any species of wood you wish. And with NO minimum run, there is no job too small!

Yes, we recommend Energy Star-certified options for the Four Corners climate. We’ll help you select glass packages and frames to maximize insulation and comfort.

Lead Times, Delivery, and Installation
How long does window replacement take in Durango, CO?
Typical replacement timelines range from 6–10 weeks from order to install, depending on brand lead times and seasonal demand. Installations are usually completed in 1–2 days for most homes.
Do you provide installation services?
Yes, we offer professional window installation, ensuring proper fit, sealing, and warranty compliance. However, we do not install cabinets, hardware, wood products, and some doors. We are happy to work with your builder or contractor to ensure all measurements are correct so that they can easily install your new products.
How soon can I expect my millworks order to be completed?
Because we mill each order carefully by hand, your order will be finished roughly 2-4 weeks from when the order was placed. (Not including shipping of specialty materials or large orders). We will discuss the lead time with you to ensure proper expectations are set and communicated.
Will SoCo Wood & Windows deliver my order?
We offer delivery for some of our products, usually within a 100-mile radius of Durango, Colorado (extra charges may apply). You can also pick up the order yourself at our showrooms. We’ll keep you informed about the timeline and when to expect your order.
