Built for Telluride Conditions
Intense UV exposure, freezing winters, and dramatic seasonal swings require materials and finishes that hold up without warping, cracking, or fading at altitude. We guide you toward the right door for your climate exposure and long-term expectations.
Expert Guidance and Builder Coordination
While we don’t install doors, we work closely with your builder, architect, or contractor to make sure every product arrives with the correct specifications for a smooth installation and lasting performance.
Expert Installation and Materials for Mountain Homes
Proper window installation in Telluride CO requires precision. Our team installs every window to manufacturer specifications, with careful attention to sealing, insulation, and flashing to keep your home tight through every season.
Materials That Perform at Elevation
Not every material is suited for Telluride’s demands. We recommend wood windows, aluminum-clad options, or fiberglass and composite frames depending on the location and style of your project.
Custom and Architectural Homes
We work alongside homeowners, builders, and design teams on custom home projects in Telluride. We coordinate on architectural windows and doors so the right products arrive on time and install without surprises.
How Much Do Custom Windows Cost in Telluride?
Most custom window projects in Telluride range from $1,000 to $3,500+ per window, with luxury door installations typically starting around $3,000 and going up based on design and materials.
Mountain homes often require higher-performance materials and more precise installation than lower-elevation projects, and these factors add upfront cost but deliver meaningful long-term returns.
What affects the cost?
- Materials: wood and clad options carry a premium over fiberglass or composite
- Custom sizing: non-standard openings and architectural shapes add cost
- Glass package: high-performance glazing and low-E coatings increase upfront cost but reduce energy bills
- Installation complexity: structural changes and large openings increase labor
- New build vs. replacement: new construction typically allows for more efficient sequencing

Yes. SoCo provides custom windows and expert window installation in Telluride, CO and surrounding mountain communities, including replacement projects, remodels, and new custom home builds.
What types of doors work best for Telluride homes?
Insulated entry doors, durable patio and sliding systems, and multi-slide options that balance energy performance with design. Fiberglass, steel, and solid wood doors with quality weatherstripping and finishes are all strong choices for mountain conditions.
